Debian is one of the most respected Linux distributions available today. Once considered only for the technical elite, Debian has matured into a mainstream distribution. The current stable version of Debian is named Sarge, which was released June 6, 2005. Etch will be the next stable version, and is scheduled to be released in December 2006. Here is what you can expect with Etch.
