Hi,
> Try "ping google.com" from windows machine.
Now things are really interesting - I can ping
google.com from the XP System - but cannot open it in
the browser. Any idea why this is so?
This is not a windows issue. My brother has 2 instance
of XP in his system. One he use to browse the net -
and the other for normal use. I tried to get the
connection in both the OSs. Still no luck.

This is a problem - if I run this command
iptables --flush
the whole network comes to a halt. I cannot even ping
my own network card from the linux system. Before
posting this question on this group, I searched a bit
for how to do it and did a lot of experimenting. I may
have mess up the configurations a bit.
Results of some commands that may be useful for
debugging this problem...

If you need anymore info, just let me know.
Thanks for all the help so far.
