[Mailinglist] Invitation for "Workshop on Open Source" at Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara

Shanker Balan from Yahoo! Bangalore would lead the workshop on Open Source
on February 15th at Excel 2k7(www.excelmec.org ), a technical festival at
Model Engineering College ( www.mec.ac.in).

Shanker Balan is a systems engineer at Yahoo! Engineering Services India
(Bangalore) where he is part of the Yahoo! Mail operations team. He's an
Opensource enthusiast and technologist, he is active in the Linux community
in Bangalore and routinely gives talks and presentations at events like
"Linux Bangalore", " foss.in" etc.

First Session - The "WHY" Of Open Source

The opening session is more general and open to all section on the thoughts
that go into developing and using Opensource. It will deal with the
decisions that go into evaluating and choosing the best fit technology for
your needs. Will also cover getting involved with Open Source development
groups and contributing.

Second Session - The "HOW" Of Open Source

This is a more operational side to putting Open Source technologies to use.
How do you do it? Does faster, safer, easier, cheaper etc really work?

First Session - 10:00 am to 12:00 noon
Second Session - 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
