Hi,

I'm a final year student of Computer Sc. & Engg. at Model Engg.
College. We were thinking of having a few classes on Perl and
Linux here at MEC. The classes are proposed to be held daily for
maybe a couple of hours with extended hours on weekends (somewhat
flexible, depends on the schedule of person taking the class as well).
We need to start from the ground up and move on to some administration
stuff. This is what the proposed (draft) syllabus looks like(excluding
the basic stuff).

The Linux boot process
 Users - general and psedo-users
processes - kill, ps, nice, signals, top
file system - types of files, permissions , sticky bit, euid & egid
 cron
 Logs - syslog, klog
 routing
 dhcp
 Network configuration
 routing
 Daemons
Apache, MySQL, PHP
Email (Sendmail/Qmail/Exim/Postfix)
DNS & BIND
Package management - install & remove packages

+

Perl

Is there anything I missed out as far as the syllabus is concerned?

Would anyone be willing to take classes on some or all of the topics?
We would like to start off as soon as possible(This Tuesday?). Please
do contact me for further info.

Thanks in advance,
