Meeting Agenda  :  "FOSS in Education"
(proposed)

Summary : The Agenda will involve discussion on the significance of FOSS in Education. How we can go about in implementing the same, and the things we need to consider.

The discussion will throw some light on the present issues faced during the implementation of FOSS by the Kerala Government and what role the community needs to play.

Technical Presentation 1 : "A Quick Introduction to Gambas" by Sreenadh 

Gambas is a free development environment based on a Basic interpreter with object extensions, a bit like Visual Basic™ (but it is NOT a clone !). With Gambas, you can quickly design your program GUI with QT or GTK+, access MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird, ODBC and SQLite databases, pilot KDE applications with DCOP, translate your program into any language, create network applications easily, make 3D OpenGL applications, make CGI web applications, and so on...

Technical Presentation 2 : "Openoffice Basics " by Venkat.

A small introduction to Openoffice to get you started. Will discuss mainly about Openoffice Writer and Calc.

We will have our usual Q&A Session after the Technical Presentation.
