Dear Friends,

I got SCIM input method for malayalam enabled in Ubuntu 9.10. So I can write
malayalam in any application - Openoffice, Firefox...etc.

1) apt-get install scim
2) Take administration-->Language support and Select scim-immodule in
keyboard input method. Click Install / Remove languages ans Select Input
Method in Malayalam

Now you can take gedit and notice the 'SCIM' icon0. Press 'ctrl + spacebar'
and type in Malayalam. Again press same to type in English

Regards

Anoop
